Schandel is an expert urban planner having more than 20 years of experience.

She brings the ability to balance regulatory complexity to navigate the complexities of the New South Wales planning system with a particular interest in Western Sydney.

Schandel offers a passionate and authentic approach as well as being driven to solve complex planning needs, while fostering important connections with stakeholders. She builds on her connections within Western Sydney having spent a total of 12 years of her career in local government in a variety of roles including leadership of development assessment teams and bringing forward major Planning Proposals.

Schandel was appointed to both the Property Council of Australia National Build-to-Rent Roundtable and NSW Western Sydney Committee for 2025/26. 

The Build-to-Rent Roundtable is charged with developing a public case for the merits of this new sector and resolving policy barriers that might discourage the establishment of this asset class. The key focus for the Western Sydney Committee is on the growth of the Central City and Western Parkland City. The Committee also looks after the development of Western Sydney events, forums and professional development seminars.
