Ethos Urban conducted Social and Economic Impact Assessments for the Burrendong Wind Farm project, a renewable energy development proposed in NSW's Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.
Ethos Urban prepared a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) to support the State Significant Development Application (SSDA) of Burrendong Wind Farm in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). The proposed wind farm includes up to 70 turbines, generating approximately 450 MW of electricity for the national grid.
In addition, Ethos Urban provided advice on the approach to housing the construction workforce in the REZ, working to minimise the social and economic impacts of temporary construction workers on local services, housing supply, and community character.
The Social and Economic Impact Assessments conducted by Ethos Urban provide critical insights into the potential effects of the Burrendong Wind Farm project on local communities. These assessments, along with the strategic advice on construction workforce accommodation, aim to inform decision-making processes and contribute to the sustainable implementation of this renewable energy initiative.
