Ethos Urban prepared an Economic Impact Assessment for Lightsource BP’s Goulburn River Solar Farm project near the town of Merriwa in regional NSW.
The specialist report delivered by Ethos Urban’s Economics team informed and accompanied the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) as part of the Project’s State Significant Development Application (SSDA).
The Economic Impact Assessments delivered by Ethos Urban provided valuable insights into the potential impacts of the Goulburn River Solar Farm project on local region and the wider NSW economy. This assessment assisted the NSW Government’s assessment processes and is part of the Project’s contribution to the sustainable implementation of renewable energy in NSW and Australia.
Now approved, the Goulburn River Solar Farm is set to deliver 585 MW of clean energy from approximately 1 million solar panels. Additionally, the Project incorporates an associated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to support the flow of energy to the National Grid. Positioned between the Central-West Orana and Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zones, the Project represents a key step in NSW’s clean energy transition. Ethos Urban’s comprehensive economic analysis reinforced the Project’s importance, aligning it with broader sustainability and economic goals
