Acacia Apartments is City West Housing’s largest development project to date and will provide 255 affordable housing apartments and ground level commercial uses adjacent to the Green Square Town Centre, designed by AJC Architects.
Ethos Urban provided Urban Planning and Design Excellence services on the project, guiding City West Housing to Concept and Detailed DA approvals for the project, along with management of the Design Excellence Competition process in accordance with the City of Sydney Competitive Design Policy requirements.
The DA process involved detailed assessment of complex residential amenity and urban design issues, including cross ventilation and solar access/overshadowing compliance. Through our work on similar sites and throughout the Green Square Town Centre, Ethos Urban was able to provide expert advice throughout the process.
The project contributes significantly to alleviating the housing crisis and will provide 255 apartments for low-income earners in a highly accessible and desirable central location within central Sydney.
