The Toowoomba Region Urban Form Framework (TRUFF) is a wide-ranging urban design and planning guideline developed to inform future planning and development policy in the Toowoomba region.

The four key urban form outcomes which the TRUFF aims to deliver is:

  • Strengthen local place character
  • Building better neighbourhoods
  • Being a good neighbour through contextual design
  • New housing choices to support community needs

Partnering with Jensen Plus as the lead consultant, Ethos Urban’s role was to facilitate the management and delivery of the framework, working closely with a team of six technical consultants which included architecture, heritage architecture, transport, engagement, economics and sustainability.

Ethos Urban also lead the planning team, co-ordinating inputs across each of the disciplines. Our design team also provided Jensen Plus with support in undertaking design tasks such as synoptic surveys in the region as part of the literature review and research phase of the project.

Developed over 12 months, the completed TRUFF guidelines provide a clear long term road map for future development in the area with a clear focus on cultivating liveable townships in the Toowoomba Region.
