Merri-bek Sportsfield Surface Study and Policy

Ethos Urban prepared a Sportsfield Surface Study, Policy and Decision-Making Framework for Merri-bek City Council.

The Study built a detailed research base outlining the strengths and limitations of natural and synthetic sportsfields surfaces based on environmental, financial and social impacts. It provided the growing inner-city council with guidance on approaches to balance intensifying demand for sportsfields and the environmental impacts synthetic turf.

Using the study’s findings, Ethos Urban developed a Council policy and decision-making framework to guide the decision-making processes around the planning and implementation of new sportsfield surfaces, in the context of competing community, environmental, and sporting interests.
