Josh is an Urban Planner with over a decade of experience in statutory and strategic planning in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Victoria and South Australia in both public and private organisations. He holds a Bachelor of Planning and a Master of Public Policy. This broad base of experience enables him to bring an agile, solution focused approach to all projects.

Josh specialises in the due diligence, strategic pathway advisory and development approval space. He is an effective project manager and excels at coordinating multiple technical disciplines to solve problems with challenging sites and multiple stakeholders.

He has acquired planning approvals for residential and mixed use developments, data centres, large format retail, primary, secondary and tertiary education facilities and childcare, and has a particular expertise in masterplan approvals for private and independent schools. He has also prepared a range of strategic plans, including Spatial Plans, Land Use Plans, Precinct Structure Plans, Development Contributions Plans and Native Vegetation Precinct Plans.

Josh has an excellent track record in appeal processes. He has effectively negotiated positive outcomes at compulsory conferences and coordinated VCAT submissions with multiple expert witnesses and legal counsel.

Josh has a particular interest in bringing innovation into the industry, including combining data and statistical analysis with spatial insight as an evidence base for urban planning policy and decision making. Josh uses these skills to represent the planning industry on the Innovation, Sustainability and Technology Committee for the UDIA.
